Super Monkey Ball 2 Lathe
My first ever commission in the vinyl realm was this Super Monkey Ball 2 fanmade lathe cut—my client wanted an homage to the album “Venus and Mars” by Wings so I replicated the subtle and soft navy on black background, every letter was completely recreated from scratch, and AiAi and MeeMee became the balls in the center. The AiAi was also turned into a magnet.
The test cut jacket was inspired by the billiards minigame in SMB2, and figuring out how all those transparent balls and layers would work together cohesively was a little challenging but satisfying, I love me a color coded and folder organized Photoshop file!
